Stats dashboard ๐Ÿ“Š

Your form, your Elo over time, your rivals and your groups' activity, in charts.
Stats dashboard ๐Ÿ“Š

The Stats tab becomes a real dashboard, and every group now has its own.

Your stats ๐Ÿ™‹

  • Pick one group or all your groups, and the period: 1 month, 3 months, 1 year or 2 years.
  • Your win rate, your wins / draws / losses record and your streaks.
  • Your form: your last 10 results at a glance.
  • Your win rate month by month, your matches per week, your favourite game days and your most played games.
  • With Premium: your Elo over time as a curve, your rivals (your best record, your toughest opponent), stats per game and up to 2 years of history.

Group stats ๐Ÿ‘ฅ

A new Stats tab in every group:

  • matches played and active players, matches per week, busiest days;
  • the most active players and the most played games;
  • with the owner's Premium: the race for the top (the Elo of the top 5 as curves) and the closest rivalries.

Coming next: signing in on a secure page in whodabest's colours, and a session that stays open. ๐Ÿ”

Secure sign-in and passkeys ๐Ÿ”

A sign-in page in whodabest's colours, passkeys, and a session that no longer closes on its own.
Secure sign-in and passkeys ๐Ÿ”

Signing in to whodabest gets simpler and safer.

A sign-in page in our colours ๐ŸŽจ

  • Signing in and signing up happen on a secure whodabest page, in light and dark.
  • It speaks your language: French, English or Turkish.
  • Forgot your password? Reset it in a few clicks.

Passkeys ๐Ÿ‘†

  • Sign in with your fingerprint, your face or a security key, no password.
  • Add a passkey from Profile โ€บ Account, then choose Sign in with a passkey next time.

You stay signed in โœ…

  • No more surprise sign-outs: your session renews by itself in the background.
  • You stay signed in on your phone until you sign out (or after 90 days without opening the app).
  • Signing out really closes your session: you'll need to sign in again to come back.

Reactions and comments ๐Ÿ’ฌ

React to your group's moments and talk about them right in the activity feed.
Reactions and comments ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Your group's activity feed becomes a place to talk.

React in one tap ๐Ÿ”ฅ

  • Under every moment of the feed (match, new member, achievement, season, tournament), leave a reaction: ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ.
  • One reaction per person: tap another one to change your mind, or yours to take it back.
  • The reaction counts show right under the line.

Comment ๐Ÿ’ฌ

  • Tap a line of the feed or the ๐Ÿ’ฌ bubble to open the comments and write yours (up to 500 characters).
  • You can delete your own comments. The group's owner, admins and moderators can delete any of them.

Don't miss the conversation ๐Ÿ””

  • When someone comments on a moment about you, or on a conversation you joined, you get a notification.
  • You can turn it off in Settings โ†’ Notifications โ†’ Comments.
  • Your comments and reactions are part of your data export, and are erased with your account.

Rivals, challenges and new tournaments โš”๏ธ

Pick your rivals, challenge your friends to a duel, and run double elimination, round robin or Swiss tournaments.
Rivals, challenges and new tournaments โš”๏ธ

Competition in your groups goes up a notch.

Your rivals ๐ŸŽฏ

  • In a group, open Events โ€บ Rivals & challenges and pick the member you most want to beat.
  • Your record against them (wins, draws, losses) and your recent form are followed from the day you picked them.
  • They get a notification: game on!
  • 1 rival on the free plan, 3 with Premium.

Challenges โš”๏ธ

  • Challenge a member to a duel: the first to N wins (1 to 10) against the other wins, in one game or any.
  • Pick how long it lasts (3 to 30 days) and add a word for your opponent.
  • Your opponent accepts or declines. Only matches recorded after they accept count; a draw counts for nobody.
  • When time is up, whoever is ahead wins. The winner shows up in the group's activity feed.

Four tournament formats ๐Ÿ†

  • Knockout: one loss and you're out.
  • Double elimination: a first loss sends you to the lower bracket, a second one knocks you out. The lower bracket's winner meets the upper bracket's in the grand final.
  • Round robin: everyone plays everyone (up to 16 players). 3 points a win, 1 a draw.
  • Swiss: a few rounds where players with the same score meet, without rematches when possible.
  • Round robins and Swiss tournaments accept draws and show a table at the top of the tournament.

Levels, streaks and titles ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Earn XP with every match, level up, keep your daily streak alive and show your title in the rankings.
Levels, streaks and titles ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Every match moves you forward.

XP and levels โญ

  • 10 XP a match, +15 for a win, +5 for a draw (up to 20 matches a day count).
  • Your achievements, tournaments and seasons won (100 XP) and challenges won (50 XP) earn XP too.
  • Level up and get a notification at each step. Your level shows in the rankings.

The daily streak ๐Ÿ”ฅ

  • Play at least one match a day to grow your streak.
  • Every 7 days you earn a freeze โ„๏ธ that saves your streak on a day without a match (up to 2 days in a row).
  • Keep up to 2 freezes on the free plan, 5 with Premium.

Titles ๐Ÿ…

  • Rookie, Regular, Veteran, Master, Legendโ€ฆ and also On fire, Unstoppable, Duelist, Champion and Tournament king.
  • Pick the one shown next to your name in the rankings, from the progression card on the home screen.

Reports and fair play ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

Report a comment, a player or a dubious result: the whodabest team takes care of it.
Reports and fair play ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

So game nights stay fair.

Report what's wrong ๐Ÿšฉ

  • An out-of-line comment? Tap the flag next to it.
  • A result that looks wrong? Open the match and tap Report this result.
  • A player causing trouble? From the leaderboard, open your head-to-head and tap Report this player.
  • Pick the reason (spam, insults, cheating, inappropriate contentโ€ฆ) and add details if you like. The person doesn't know who reported them.

The team keeps watch ๐Ÿ‘€

  • Every report is reviewed by the whodabest team, who can remove the content or suspend an account for a few days.
  • A suspended account sees the end date and the reason on the home screen. It can still see its profile, download its data or delete itself.

Calendar, collection and Premium+ ๐Ÿ“…

Plan game nights, keep your game collection, export your stats as a PDF and find any match with Premium+.
Calendar, collection and Premium+ ๐Ÿ“…

Everything to set up the next game, and keep track of all the others.

The group calendar ๐Ÿ“…

  • In a Premium group's Events tab, tap Calendar then Plan a session: title, date, place, game and a note for the others.
  • Everyone answers I'm in, Maybe or Can't make it, and everyone sees who's coming.
  • The group is told when a game is planned or cancelled, and gets a reminder an hour before.

Your collection ๐ŸŽฒ (Premium)

  • In settings, My games lists the games you own and your wishlist, with how many times you played each one and when you last did.

Your stats as a PDF ๐Ÿ“„ (Premium)

  • On your dashboard, tap the PDF icon: a report of your last 12 months (summary, games, rivals, progress) to keep or share.

Premium+ โœจ

  • A new plan for leagues and big clubs: up to 50 groups of 200 players, as many rivals as you like and 7 streak freezes.
  • Search all your matches by game, group, opponent, result or date.
  • โ‚ฌ5.99 a month or โ‚ฌ57.99 a year. Already Premium? Switch plans from your subscription settings.

Invite links ๐Ÿ”—

Invite your friends with a link: they join your group directly, no need to look up their email address.
Invite links ๐Ÿ”—

Inviting someone used to mean knowing their email address. Now a link is enough.

  • In your group, tap the invite icon (owner or admin), then New link: it's copied, paste it in your group chat.
  • Choose how long it lasts (1, 7 or 30 days) and, if you like, a maximum number of uses.
  • A link shared too widely? Revoke it in one tap.

Join in one tap ๐Ÿ™Œ

  • Opening the link shows the group (name, number of members), then opens it in the app.
  • You can also type the code by hand: Organizations โ†’ Join with a code.
  • You become a member right away, no approval needed. A former member gets their place and history back.

For placeholder players ๐Ÿ‘ป

Your uncle has been playing with you for months as a placeholder player? Create a link for him: opening it, he takes over that player with all its games, wins and Elo rating.

Coming next: a stats dashboard. ๐Ÿ“Š

New design, dark mode ๐ŸŽจ

The app gets a makeover: tab navigation, a brighter and warmer look, a real dark mode and a full translation in French, English and Turkish.
New design, dark mode ๐ŸŽจ

whodabest gets a new outfit. Same app, same groups, same rankings, but everything is easier to find.

Everything within thumb's reach ๐Ÿ‘

  • A tab bar at the bottom of the screen: Home, Groups, Play, Stats and Profile.
  • Play opens match recording straight away (you're asked for the group if you have several).
  • Home tells you where you stand ("You're leading Friday Board Games") and lists your groups with your rank.

Clearer groups ๐Ÿ†

  • A header with the key numbers: matches played, most played game, player in the lead.
  • Ranking, Matches, Members, Activity and Events tabs (tournaments and seasons).
  • The ranking shows a podium, the Elo and the wins / draws / losses record, with a filter per game.
  • You can now add a player without an account straight from "Add a member".

Light or dark ๐ŸŒ™

The app follows your phone's theme. Prefer one or the other? Choose Light or Dark in Profile โ†’ Appearance.

In your language ๐ŸŒ

Every text is translated into French, English and Turkish (a few were still hard-coded). In Profile โ†’ Language, you can also go back to the phone's language.

Coming next: the stats dashboard, built right into this new design. ๐Ÿ“Š

Draws, guest players & a new achievement engine ๐ŸŽ–๏ธ

Ties finally count, every game has its own scoring rule, players without an account work, and all 51 achievements are now tracked with their progress and XP.
Draws, guest players & a new achievement engine ๐ŸŽ–๏ธ

A big update to make rankings fairer and achievements much richer.

Scores that respect each game ๐ŸŽฏ

Every game now has its scoring rule:

  • Highest wins: Scrabble, Catan, bowlingโ€ฆ (default)
  • Lowest wins: darts, golf, time trials
  • Win / loss: chess, Risk, Codenamesโ€ฆ the winner scores 1, everyone else 0

Draws count ๐Ÿค

When several players finish tied at the top, it's now a draw for them (and a loss for the others) instead of a match without a winner. Draws show in the ranking and break win streaks.

Finish a match played in rounds ๐Ÿ

A new Finish match button on the rounds screen closes the game from the round totals and updates the ranking.

Guest players and former members ๐Ÿ‘ฅ

  • Players without an account (guests) can be added and play again. When they create their account, their history and stats are merged into their profile.
  • Removing a member who has already played makes them a former member: they leave the member list but stay in the match history and the ranking. Invited again, they get their whole history back.
  • The organization's member limit is now also checked when accepting an invitation.

A real achievement engine ๐Ÿ…

Achievements are now computed from your whole history, not just counters:

  • 42 achievements are now tracked: win streaks, Explorer, Jack of all trades, Founder, Mentor, Champion, Comeback, Marathon, Weekend warriorโ€ฆ
  • Conditions finally match their description: On fire = 10 wins in the same day, Invincible = 20 wins in a row, Dominator = 90% wins over 50 matches or more, Legend = 95% over 100 matches or more.
  • The Achievements screen shows your progress (for example 7/10) for each locked achievement, and your total XP: 10 for a common achievement, 25 rare, 50 epic, 100 legendary.
  • Achievements already earned by existing players are awarded automatically.

Some achievements (Early bird, Night owl, Photographer, Referee, Team spirit, Tournament winner, Contributor, Community legend, Immortal) will come with the features that make them possible.

Coming next: Elo ranking and head-to-head, seasons, tournaments and push notifications. ๐Ÿ†

Elo ranking & head-to-head โš”๏ธ

Every player now has an Elo rating in their organization and for each game, and tapping an opponent in the ranking shows your record against them.
Elo ranking & head-to-head โš”๏ธ

Winning is good. Beating someone stronger than you is better. The ranking now takes that into account.

An Elo rating for every player ๐Ÿ“ˆ

  • Everyone starts at 1000. Beating a higher-rated player earns more points than beating a lower-rated one.
  • One rating per organization, and one per game: being unbeatable at chess doesn't inflate your Mario Kart rating.
  • Games with 3 players or more count too: each player is compared with every other one (win > draw > loss).
  • Editing, deleting or back-dating a match recomputes every rating of the organization in game order, so they always stay exact.

The rating shows next to each player in the ranking, which stays sorted by number of wins.

Head-to-head ๐Ÿค

In the ranking, tap another player to see your record against them: wins, draws, losses and your latest matches with the scores. If the ranking is filtered on a game, so is the head-to-head.

Coming next: seasons, tournaments and push notifications. ๐Ÿ†

Seasons are here ๐Ÿ

Premium members can start seasons in their organization: a new race, its own ranking and a champion crowned at the end.
Seasons are here ๐Ÿ

The all-time ranking is great. Starting from scratch now and then is even better.

One season, a new race ๐Ÿ

  • The owner of a Premium organization starts a season whenever they like, with the name of their choice ("Autumn 2026", "Christmas Cup"โ€ฆ).
  • Every match played during the season counts for its ranking: wins, draws, losses and an Elo rating that restarts at 1000 for everyone.
  • One season at a time: the all-time ranking carries on alongside it.

A champion at the end ๐Ÿ†

When the owner ends the season, the ranking is frozen and the leader is crowned champion. Past seasons stay visible to every member, even if an old match is edited later.

Find seasons through the ๐Ÿ† icon at the top of your organization's page.

Coming next: tournaments and push notifications. ๐Ÿ†

Knockout tournaments โš”๏ธ

Premium organizations can set up tournaments: a knockout bracket, seeds based on Elo and a winner crowned in the final.
Knockout tournaments โš”๏ธ

The big night is here: tournaments arrive on whodabest.

A real bracket ๐ŸŸ๏ธ

  • The owner or an admin of a Premium organization creates a tournament: a name, a game, the players.
  • Seeds are placed by their Elo for that game: the best only meet at the end, and they get the byes when the number of players isn't a power of two.
  • The bracket moves on by itself: the winner of each match goes through to the next round, all the way to the final.

Matches that count ๐ŸŽฏ

  • Each bracket match is entered by one of the two players (or an organizer) and becomes a regular match: it counts for the ranking, Elo, seasons and achievements.
  • No draws in a knockout: if it's a tie, play again.
  • The tournament winner unlocks the Tournament winner achievement ๐Ÿ†.

Find tournaments through the bracket icon at the top of your organization's page.

Coming next: push notifications and the activity feed. ๐Ÿ†

Notifications & activity feed ๐Ÿ””

whodabest tells you when a match involves you, when you're invited or when your next tournament match is ready, and every organization now has its activity feed.
Notifications & activity feed ๐Ÿ””

No need to open the app to know what's going on.

Notifications ๐Ÿ””

You're notified (push notification and in-app inbox) when:

  • someone records a match you played in;
  • you get an invitation to an organization, or a request to link a player profile to your account;
  • your next tournament match is ready, a tournament you play in ends or a season ends;
  • you unlock an achievement.

Each category can be turned off in Settings โ†’ Notifications, and the bell on the home screen shows how many notifications are unread.

Activity feed ๐Ÿ“ฐ

Every organization has a new Activity tab: matches played (with the score), new members, achievements unlocked, seasons and tournaments. Catch up on what you missed at a glance.

Coming next: match photos and avatars. ๐Ÿ“ธ

Match photos & avatars ๐Ÿ“ธ

Put a face on every player and keep a souvenir of every game: profile pictures, group pictures and match photos arrive in whodabest.
Match photos & avatars ๐Ÿ“ธ

Rankings are good. With faces, they're better.

Profile and group pictures ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿคโ€๐Ÿง‘

  • Pick your profile picture in Settings: it shows in the member list and in the rankings.
  • The owner or an admin can give the group a picture from the organization's edit screen.

Match photos ๐Ÿ“ธ

  • On a match page, add a photo: the board at the end of the game, the score, the loser's faceโ€ฆ
  • The match's players and the organizers can add some: 1 photo per match on the free plan, 10 for Premium organizations.
  • Tap to enlarge, long-press to delete.
  • The Photographer achievement unlocks after 10 photos ๐Ÿ….

Photos stay private: only the group's members can see them.

Coming next: invite links and the stats dashboard. ๐Ÿ“Š

Stripe payments, achievements & match details ๐Ÿ…

The Premium subscription is now live through Stripe, an achievement system rewards the best performances, and every match now has its own detail page.

First screens of the mobile app ๐Ÿ“ฑ

The whodabest mobile app is taking shape โ€” onboarding, authentication and the dashboard now work on iPhone.
First screens of the mobile app ๐Ÿ“ฑ

The screenshots in this post show the app with its current design.

The mobile app is moving fast. Here's a first concrete look at what you'll find on your iPhone at launch.

Onboarding

On first launch, the app welcomes you with a clean intro screen. A short questionnaire โ€” region, age, how you found us, gender โ€” personalizes the experience from the start. Moving between steps is animated, and progress is clearly shown.

Authentication

Simple sign-in and sign-up screens in whodabest's colours. Signing in happens on whodabest's secure page, with a password or a passkey.

Dashboard

Once signed in, you land on your home screen: your level and streak, a button to record a match, and your groups with your rank in each. Simple, fast, focused on what matters.
